Hey Carlos, man I love your sense of humor. I can’t think of anything else I enjoy reading as much as I do your posts (and even your replies). Let’s put it this way, I could have put that $50 towards the boxing gym membership I have been thinking about. I’m definitely not turned off by boxing. I’m excited to see Mayweather get beat up, and I look forward to the 24/7 series. You know maybe it’s because I don’t watch most fights live and I just look at the highlights, but I enjoyed the first round of the Super Six. One of the things that surprised me was how everyone was so amazed by Andre Ward’s performance. Personally, and I’m no expert obviously, but I saw a dirty fighter get away with things he shouldn’t have. He might have still beaten Kessler without all the headbutts, but I was not impressed. Also, I’m excited about Edwin Valero. Why do you make of the guy? Overall, I’m just getting more into boxing as each day goes by. For me, it’s more than about just following a sport. I think boxing would be a really good way to stay in shape for me. I work out religiously as it is, and I’d like to get into boxing now. I’m always looking forward to your posts man, keep up the good work!

Hi Nick,
I’m sorry that your first real experience in boxing was the Pac-Clottey card and that ypu will now go barefoot because of it. Pacquiao is one of boxing’s only sure bets, but last week, as you say, Clottey was just not interested in putting himself at risk. I don’t see how boxing generates new fans, to be honest. Between all the bad fights on ESPN2, the lack of access to most bouts, expensive PPVs, and horrible undercards, it’s amazing anyone actually sticks around for the 9 or 10 decent fights per year. Hopefully, you won’t be completely turned off by your first mugging.

Oh man, yeah..that was not what I expected. I was excited, I started watching at 5 PM (Pacific), and by 8, I had seen absolutely nothing that I even remotely enjoyed. I did fall in love with that freakin jumbo screen though. But yeah, to top it all off, Clottey just came to collect his paycheck rather than to fight. I still think Pacquiao is the baddest man on the planet, but I should’ve just bought that new pair of Vans I wanted!

Man.. I look forward to watching my first ever boxing event live! I just wish I didn’t have to pay $50 bucks! I’m just a college student and it’s a strange feeling having spent money on something I usually watch on youtube (boxing fights). I hope it’s worth it.
